Some Changes on the Way

A quick shout out to the boyz for an excellent session last weekend! I believe things went down quite nicely. The primarily focus of that session was to prep for the battle with David Simmons (Junior). In the past, downtime was used to do this as players bought gifts, rites, and upped their stats. I chose to instead to integrate these actions directly into the story (like the restructuring of the pack's totem, Rids-the-Pain).

The next session will most likely be the last for this chronicle. It's been a long journey, from those first days when the Scars took over Hyde Park. The first mission was to investigate several murders (that Simmons committed) in their new territory. This hunt took them to the Ethros realm, Lancaster, and now the United States. The finale encounter is in sight. Needless to say, I'm eagerly awaiting this showdown.

By the by, here are few changes to site I plan on adding in the days to come:

-Session Summary for Session 12

-Online character sheets

-New page for pack totem with character sheet

-Music page for the song "Leave"

-New pack pictures

We're popular!?

As vain as that is say, I do get satisfaction from being watched from afar. I’ve been telling the group that I receive emails every now and then from folks commenting on how much they enjoy reading our site's content. It is nice to know that somewhere out there other people our enjoying our gaming experiences. But I didn’t think we were ever this level of popular. I’m posting it below (in caps to illustrate its awesomeness) what I just found out about our “not-so-little” site:

OUR HEALING SCAR’S WEBSITE IS ON THE OFFICAL WHITE WOLF WIKI.

Don’t believe me? Click here and go to the bottom of the page where it lists personal pages for Werewolf: the Forsaken. That means (clearing my throat) that not only do the fine folks at White Wolf Studios know about our site, but they also believe that it is of a high enough caliber to list on their official pages. That's kind of like being in the Dark Spiral times 1,000. It’s super maxi awesome, and I can’t come up with enough words to describe its coolness (other than words that continue to make me come off like an excited schoolgirl, so I’ll quit while I’m ahead).

You guys should be proud. I know I am.

A Fresh Coat of Paint

In case you haven't noticed, the website's theme (look) has changed considerably. Warning! If you're allergic to "geek speak" then avoid the following. The previous theme's CSS code did not play nice with the new changes Blogger went through in its transition from beta to final. In said switch, the site’s ability to post comments completely crashed. The old theme was one I had modded from the warehouse of customization also known as blogskins.com. After fudging with the code for about an hour, I realized it might prove less stressful to just start from scratch and code the damn thing myself. The result of which you are now staring at is the new and (hopefully) improved Healing Scars blog. I've done my moderate best to ensure that the content and flavor of our site was transferred seamlessly. To be honest, I'm not sure if everything is up to snuff. I know that the site looks pretty fly in Internet Explorer, Opera, and Firefox. I'm not a Mac dude anymore so I can't vouch for Safari. I'm also curious if the site works on lower resolutions, but on the other side of the spectrum it spaces out nicely on my widescreen monitor.

Anyways, I had a point with this post. Now that the rambling is over I'll get right to it: if you guys see anything "screwy" going on due to the changes let me know. I will be more the happy to fix whatever the heck it might be. Also, if you look on the right sidebar you'll see a new section called "Posts by Label." It does what it says... and I find it a much faster way to find older posts than digging through the archives. Enjoy!

Change of Address

Since the new term "gauru" is confused with its older "garou" counterpart, I took a bold step and changed our url (web address) of the Healing Scars blog.

The address http://gauru.blogspot.com/ will no longer link you to the site. I used the words "Healing Scars" because the blog centers of the adventures of said Urathan pack. You can now enter our lovely site by entering the following into your browser:

http://healingscars.blogspot.com/

The truth of the matter is that, if you're reading this, you should already know about the change. I sent out a mass email to the bulk of the blog users informing them of the new address. You guys (you know who you are) can forward this info to anyone left out of the digital loop.

Besides writing session summary 5 and the upcoming stories, I'm also working on "miniblogs" for your individual characters. My goal is for these blogs to serve as an outlet for players to spew information from each packmate's point of view. They can be diaries, journals, whatever. I leave the proverbial “ball” in your court. This is, of course, not mandatory. But I've been thinking about awarding exp. points based off of added content. The miniblog template designs are going well and I expect to wrap them up sometime next week. More updates on that to follow.

Dreaming Eye. I really need everybody’s help in testing out this rpg. I was thinking of running it on a Sunday, perhaps on a weekend that we don't roleplay Werewolf. Any ideas?

RPG Blog Created

Greetings all.

Once the group is established, I plan on posting the Pack's sessions in some form (shorthand, outline).

I might even use the page to add side stories to the chronicle. With some group feedback using the comments system, this little page could turn out quite useful.
